Hunting Peter Pilotto x Target x Net-a-porter

Hi Friends! For those who didn't get what they wanted from the initial Peter Pilotto x Target x Net-a-porter launch, here are some quick tips to *perhaps* get your hands on some items you want!

1. In these limited edition launches, most people buy a couple sizes and return what doesn't fit. This is especially true since Net-a-porter has free online returns! That means returns will be trickling back online, slowly. For example, the Printed crepe dress is available on Net-a-porter right now (at time of publishing), even though it was sold out initially. TIP: stalk Net-a-porter religiously to see if the Peter Pilotto item you want pops up in the size you want. There's a good chance it will happen!

2. Even if someone bought from Target online, they'll probably return merchandise to their closest Target store. TIP: visit your local Target to see if there are any fresh returns from online purchasing.

3. If you don't mind the ridiculous markup, people are always selling Peter Pilotto x Target x Net-a-porter items on eBay.

Good luck with your hunt!

It's winter here

It's winter here and that means snowwww!!! It also means I am obsessed with plaid. I would kill for a pair of plaid gloves. Figuratively, of course. I don't have plaid gloves but I do have a plaid skirt. Plaid + stripes forever!!

I am COMPLETELY IN LOVE with google's auto awesome. If you don't know, it makes gifs from similar looking pictures that you upload to google+.

This looks way better than any of the individual stills by themselves.

I feel like I'm at Hogwarts, with magical moving pictures and everything.

I tried using the same pictures in a web-browser gif program to make a gif, but it didn't look the same. Auto awesome has something called "eraser", which takes "a sequence of 3 or more photos in front of a structure or landmark with movement in the background...[giving] you a photo with all the moving objects removed." It's pretty cool. You can save the gif to your computer as well.

Another feature... auto awesome can also add snow! If it feels like it. So wintery. I don't know why it's so entertaining! Maybe I'm a cat.

Moving snow just makes everything so much better. Aw yisssss!(hark a vagrant refence)
So thank you, Google auto awesome, for making this blog post 1,000,000 times better. You are exactly what you are titled... auto awesome.

Anyway, here are some BORING, NORMAL pictures of my outfit. SNORESVILLE.

Love the backseam.

Snow snow snow

Wheedom
On my previously-chapped lippies I'm wearing Clinique chubby stick intense in mightiest maraschino ( = awesome red). Unlike the normal Clinique chubby sticks which gives more of a sheen than full on color, the intense sticks go on more like a lipstick. They're still moisturizing, even with a large color payout. I highly recommend 'em!

Oh, you like my sandals? Me too! I love these trippen happy sandals. They are really comfortable and sooo sooo soo cool. They are my favorite, and presumably inspired by geta sandals. I feel so ninja wearing them.

The cape is from Prabal Gurung x Target. I added some very warm lining and buttons so it's super cozy and functional. Plaid skirt from Forever 21. Striped shirt from "Monteau".

Winter!!!

Warm fall day

Sartorially, fall is my favorite season. I love a bit of layering, I really love outerwear, and I love the jewel tones that are associated with fall-winter.

Where I live the fall has been unusually warm so far so I haven't been layering much. The dress I am wearing (Free People) is also surprisingly warm since it's made with a couple of body-hugging layers.

Check out those shoesssss

end-of-summer outfit

So... I just noticed that I didn't post any outfits this summer. ACK!  What is my dysfunction?!

Well! I will fix this right now. Here is a quick end-of-summer outfit since it is now fall. It includes some essential summer outfit elements: crop top, denim vest, (faux) leather skirt, and sandals.

Vest - Feed x Target. Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell. Crop top - Beyonce x H&M. Skirt - Charlotte Russe.

I highly recommend the denim hoodie vest from Feed x Target! First, it's for a good cause. Some of the proceeds from the Feed x Target line go towards feeding hungry families in America. This $30 vest will provide approximately 24 meals. Awesome, right?

Second, it is an all-seasons piece of clothing. This Feed x Target look will be great for fall:

I know I will be wearing the vest all year long (and will probably post pictures here). It is actually quite warm (which I looooove). Third, it has a cotton hood which is so warm and cozy and wonderful comfortable and waghghhhhhghhhghhg it's so nice. I know the Feed x Target collab has died down (and the Phillip Lim x Target is so IT right now), but consider getting some cozy-comfy things from the Feed x Target collab. It's pretty awesome.

Happy spring!

Gotta post some a quick spring outfit before summer gets here! Floral pants at the ready!
Springy!
Ready for your closeupAHHHHHHHHHH!
I D.I.Y.ed the headpiece with some stiff metal wire, Swarovski crystal beads, and shell beads (from Michaels).

TIP: If you have a peplum top/skirt/dress and feel like the peplum flares out too high on your waist, you can lower the flare with a wide belt!

See?
