I can't exactly explain why, but I love this music video! Maybe it's because she's got swag "pumping out her ovaries".

Check out Kreayshawn - Gucci Gucci on youtube. Tell me whether you love it or hate it!

habitual ava in gloss

These are the habitual ava skinny jeans in gloss. They are a sort of gunmetal color. What do you think... rad or fab?

Wear Red Wear Hope

Chictopia is doing a very cute Japan fundraiser, called "Wear Red Wear Hope". Chictopia members wear red and spread the word to friends and family to donate to the Red Cross Japan earthquake and tsunami relief funds. It is the fashion community equivalent to a walk-a-thon. The people in Japan are still suffering from the effects of the natural disasters, and anything will help. You can donate to the Red Cross Japan relief fund here.

The shirt is from Karmaloop's Japan fundraiser.

The jeans are J Brand Agnes Coated Zip Skinny in Stealth. JP from denimdebutante helped me with my sizing difficulties, as I wasn't able to try these on before I bought them from the interwebs (I got them on ebay). J Brand runs small, so I gave her my size from a different J Brand pair and she gave me her recommendation (size 28 for me). Truth be told... these babies fit like a dream! I've been jones-ing for a waxed jean for a very long time, and I'm really glad I got these. The denim material is a lot thinner than I thought it would be, which I actually really love - people have complained that many pairs of waxed jeans feel very stiff, which is not the case for the J Brand Agnes coated. It feels sort of like the Houlihan (although you should likely size down for Houlihans). The "cropped" 28 inch inseam is the perfect non-cropped inseam para mi, as you can tell from the pictures. I am 5'5" and buying a pair of jeans without having to hem them is near impossible, so I LOVE MADLY that these fit me without me having to do anything! OH, INSTANT GRATIFICATION, you are the best! ANYHOO, if you ever need help with denim sizing, HIT UP JP. She really is a most knowledgeable person about denim, if you can't tell from her sweet blog, and is SUPA AWESOME.

Specs for the rest of the outfit: Jacket - Jack BB Dakota; Shoes - Kelsi Dagger; Necklace - Lucky Brand. Follow me on chictopia if you aren't already!

WAR ON WOMEN

The House of Representatives just passed an act called "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act", a.k.a. "H.R.3". The title might sound OK in theory, but one of the many things this bill does includes forcing RAPE victims to PROVE TO THE IRS that they were RAPED. Yes, the IRS will have to AUDIT RAPE.

This bill wants to make abortion impossible not only through immense financial strain but also in red tape/paperwork time.

H.R.3 is now at the Senate - STOP THIS RIDICULOUSNESS NOW and sign a petition.

Rachel Zoe's Picks for Piperlime - The Bad and the Ugly

The other day I listed my favorites from Rachel Zoe's picks for Piperlime, and so today I'll post the counterpoint. Here are the picks that I think are not so good.

Tibi Athena Belted Dress, $385. While I love the print, the ruffles on the sides are a little too much. It kinda looks like the dress is shedding, and adds a wideness - the last thing I need is a dress make me look more wide! I guess that's why only the size 2 is sold out....?
IRO Shana Dress, $307.50. This dress is strange in that it's conservative on the top but super short on the bottom. That works for some dresses, but... not this one.
Parker Button Down Top, $198. I dunno about you, but this one says "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" to me. Rachel Zoe is an amazing stylist, I'm sure she could make it work, but me... not so much.
Dolce Vita Layla in Gold, $98. These look too much like house slippers. In fact I think my dad has a pair similar to these.

Honestly, that's it.... I liked (or at least could see on someone else) 98.7% of Rachel Zoe's picks, although 98% is too expensive for me. Oh, the plight of the college student! :P

SOLD High Heel Bell + vintage

I was lucky enough to win a pair of SOLD's High Heel Bell during one of their Facebook giveaways, and I am SUPER excited about this pair! I have too many pairs of skinnies and am so happy they gave me a pair of flares that are super on trend for the season.

Pros: They are extremely soft and comfortable and are fairly affordable for high-end denim. Most pairs like these would be around $200, while this SOLD pair is $118 on piperlime. These flares are on trend this season - so much so that they are a Rachel Zoe pick! I love 'em love 'em love 'em and never want to take them off! Also, I got a medium and these fit me fabulously...they feel like they were made just for me! The fit is just amazing. ALSO I love the wash - the color is divine!

Cons: These lovelies come in XS, M, L, etc. sizes, so you might not find a pair in your size. I'm a size 28 and I got a M, and honestly they fit perfectly. However, someone was complaining they're a size 30 and they got a L but the pair was too small. Also, the inseam is too long for my 5'5" frame - I'm wearing my tallest heels and the jeans are still scraping the ground. I'll have to hem them as I don't usually wear my tallest heels. Last thing - the pair I got are pull on, which made my blouse harder to tuck in, but otherwise is not a bad thing.

On to the pics!

Here's the info on the other pieces in the picture:
Heels - Sam Edelman
Bag - Botkier Sasha Duffle
Shirt - Boston Proper (Consignment find)
Blazer - Goodwill find (embellishment added myself)
Bandeau - Free People

I love good finds from second-hand stores, and this shirt ($14) and blazer ($6) are total scores!
